It’s OK to add a little color.
In fact, it’s FUN to add a little color when painting your home!
Here is a great example (under construction) of a very ‘bold’ color used in a great way. This is a four seasons sun porch in our 2013 Parade of Homes condo at 7372 Rock Canyon. This room is about 11′ x 14′, and consists of vaulted ceilings, and windows on three walls. There is always a ton of light coming into this room. Add this with the fact that the windows take up about 80% of the total wall space, and you have a great recipe for a room ideal for bold colors.
When I say ‘bold colors’, I don’t mean Nickelodeon Slime Green, or Electric Hot Pink. No, I mean colors that maybe a little too bold for a bedroom or kitchen, but would be perfect for a room that you can escape to and feel like you’ve entered into a different place altogether!
This yellow that we’ve used here is called York Harbor Yellow, a Benjamin Moore color (2154-40).
The main wall color is Lenox Tan, HC 44, and the accent color is Tyler Taupe, HC 43
Be sure to stop by this great condo during one of our Sunday Open Houses, or during the Parade of Homes, May 24th – June 8th
