There are many floorplan choices for the modern condo. Today we will look at the Ranch floor plan in condominiums.
A ranch floor plan is most easily defined as ‘main floor living’. This will include at least 1 bedroom, 1 full bathroom, and a mix of living space that includes kitchen and dining areas. These features are all easily accessible without stairs within the home. I ran across this article recently that talks about the history of the ranch concept.
In some climates, ranch homes are built ‘slab on grade’, meaning they are built directly on a concrete slab or foundation. In other climates (such as we have here in Michigan), we can dig basements, and a typical ranch home will have additional space in the basement.
For many, the location of the laundry room in their ranch home is very important. In older ranch homes, the laundry facilities were located in the lower level. This was a logical location, since they were loud, and produced a great deal of heat and lint. With today’s more energy efficient washers and dryers, the heat, dampness and lint are no longer an issue, and home owners are opting to put their laundry facilities on the main floor; typically as close to the master suite as possible.
At Sierrafield, our Ranch floor plans all follow this definition with main floor living, most with the laundry also on the main floor. Currently, all of our models also have unfinished basements included in the base price. While all Ranch floor plans; the Ash, Cypress, Elderberry, Elm, Elm v2, and Rosewood all offer something different to a potential home buyer. Different sizes, price ranges, and highlighted features differentiate each of the ranch floor plans.
