Mission: Sell Your House! Part 6

Mission:  Bathrooms

So what is new, exciting, trendy, or just plain needed when redoing or adding a bathroom in today’s market?  Here are a few tips and suggestions for your bathroom makeover.  All of these ideas are items many buyers are looking for.

Get rid of the tub– and bring on the shower! Removing the awkward tub unit in the master suite and replacing it with a larger walk in shower is one of the top requested items in bathrooms today.

Natural light.  The addition of sky lights or windows can add a calming aroma to the space and feel very peaceful and welcoming to potential buyers.

Keep the private things private.  Creating separation from the toilet area from the other parts of the bathroom is a common trend.  With the use of a partial wall or room this can often be a smaller task than you might think

His and Hers.  Two sinks are almost a must if you are thinking of a master bathroom remodel or addition.

Warm and Cozies.  Radiant floor heat, updated lighting, and improved exhaust systems are all ways to make a master bath more sellable.

With current bathroom remodels or new construction, it almost always comes down to relaxing in a luxury oasis- or least the idea of one.  Making the master bath a destination space rather than a necessary accommodation is the goal.  On a budget?  Think of little touches that can make a bathroom more inviting and warm like candles, decorative soaps, or new towels hanging or rolled in a basket.
