School’s out for the summer and it’s time to have some fun! One of the great recreational activities Michigan offers is golf. Did you know Michigan ranks third on the number of golf courses per state following Florida and California? Byron Center and the surrounding communities boast a number of fantastic golf courses. Here are a few that might be worth swinging the irons for.
Ironwood Golf Courses– 3750 65th Street in Byron Center. Green fees for this 18 hole, 71 par course range are around $20 not including the cart. Discounts for students and seniors.
The Pines Golf– 5050 Byron Center Ave in Wyoming offers membership for full time play or pay as you go at about $23 for a walking adult golfer. The 72 par course also offers discounts for students and seniors.
L.E. Kaufman– 4807 Clyde Park Ave in Wyoming is a Kent County Park System Golf courses and is adjacent to Palmer Park. Memberships are available or it is about a $27 cost for 18 holes without a cart.
Maple Hill– 5555 Ivanrest in Grandville offers one of the area’s most expansive pro shops, heated driving range, and indoor simulators. The 18 hole, 70 par course varies in cost depending on time and day and age, but averages about $20 for a walker. Discounts for students and seniors and cart specials are also often featured.
Stonewater Country Club is a membership only course located on 7177 Kalamazoo Avenue in Caledonia. Membership to Stonewater also entitles you to membership at two other clubs in the area. League play, outings, and family fun can be had at Stonewater.
Briarwood Golf Club– 2900 92nd street in Caledonia has been a staple for the community since 1963. It features back, front, and east 9 courses. The 18 hole front and back is about a 72 par. Priced at about $20 for walkers, the real deal comes at twilight hours when you can receive unlimited golf and a cart for $18. Membership is also available and includes access to the sister course Broadmoor Country Club. Broadmoor is located at 7725 Kraft Ave in Caledonia.
There are many other courses in the Greater Grand Rapids area- but we hope this gets you started! Most of these courses are just a few minutes drive from Sierrafield Condominiums. And with standard over-sized two stall garages- there is plenty of room to keep the clubs at the ready!
